Helping America Now – Empowering Individuals To Take Back Their Lives By Improving Their Situation
Helping America Now (HAN) is a non-profit organization that holds a strong focus towards homeless veterans and mentally disabled adults in need of housing, vocational assistance and educational training. Support Helping America Now today!
Helping America Now rewards scholarships to U.S. based individuals. Their mission is to empower individuals to take back their lives by improving their situation, helping those who need it the most.
Helping American Now is founded by Raji Rykert, and extraordinary business woman with over 40 years of accomplishments. HAN is a non-profit designed to help U.S. Veterans and mentally disabled adults find empowerment and independence by providing financial scholarships that can be used for education and general living assistance. While working with these individuals on a day to day basis, it became evident that “the system” was set up to keep them dependent and Raji wanted to help them become independent. As a result, she immediately set out to identify ways to help her clients find empowerment and achieve their own personal and financial goals.
By working with local agencies and engaging her clients to determine their needs, goals and desires, HAN set up various scholarships to assist this special population. HAN also contracts housing with a licensed adult residential facility located in Palmdale, California where these individuals can enjoy affordable assisted living in a home that also feels like a wellness resort. They receive outstanding nutritional meals and daily support services to help them stabilize and enjoy a safe, comfortable living situation. The stable housing environment, nutritious farm-to-table meals prepared from scratch, activity programs that include yoga, exercise, beauty / health / nutrition, outings to museums, scenic gardens and anything that stimulates the mind and keeps people active feed the soul. As a result, residents have achieved important health outcomes that include weight loss, improved health and stamina, getting off of medications and, in the case of one scholarship recipient, reversing her Type II Diabetes.
HAN is currently in the process of applying for grants and engaging donors to not only continue with the funding of educational, housing and general scholarships but also with a goal to create jobs. When people have a reason to get up every morning and have goals that they can look forward to accomplishing, they will more likely be happier and healthier.
HAN is working on contracting with a local coffee house where homeless veterans and mentally disabled people can earn wages and continue on their journey towards independence. HAN also has a vision to contract with other housing facilities to better meet the needs of homeless veterans and mentally disabled adults.
One Hundred Percent (100%) of funds donated to Helping America Now are spent on Food, Housing, Transportation, Clothing and Vocational Training. All of the administrative, marketing and operational services are donated by people who care, so all monies go directly to help the individuals who really need it.
