Interview: Sean the Star Emperor

Hello Sean! Thank you for your time today! We would love to start by learning more about you! Tell us a little bit about your musical background.

I’m from the NY theater scene.  I started recording in 2006 in NYC.  My parents had tons of music all around from all over the world

We saw on IG that you have new music dropping! Congrats. Can you give us any details on what we can expect?

We can expect a fusion between dance, my Caribbean background, and the world of shamanism, as I have been recently been certified as a spiritual healer.

If you had to describe your sound in one sentence what would it be?
The sass of NY with the glam and glitter of the 80s

Tell us what you do best? What sets you apart from other artists?

What I do best is linking the beat and body to lyrics .  What sets me apart is that I go beyond genre but still link my sound

What inspires your music the most? Do you listen to other artists to get inspiration and is there a particular song that never fails to move you emotionally?

I am so inspired by listening to other people converse and highlight there issues in public at coffee shops.  But I have artists that move me, particularly Enya.

When you are performing do you ever experience performance anxiety or stage fright? If so, what do you do to combat it?

Always—what I do is call in Angels and do a meditation of light and color to heal the anxiety .

Anything else you would like to share?

2/27 Bar Lubitsch, in conjunction with We Found New Music, (WFNM).  Doors open at 7, I am performing around 10:30 pm that night.  It’s going to very fun, I always give a little more.
